Here at The Stables at Cypress Creek wedding venue located in Alabama we see a lot of couples getting married, but how does the whole marriage certificate process work?

The Old Way

In most states, couples looking to tie the knot would head down to the local probate office prior to the wedding ceremony and obtain a marriage license document. The document would be valid for 30 days, allowing for all parties to sign and return . Fees vary from $70-$105 for a marriage license depending on the county. After the ceremony, the officiant would sign the marriage license. You would then return the marriage license to the county clerks office for it to be officially recorded. Once your marriage certificate has been recorded, the clerk would then issue an official marriage certificate. But wait the process is much easier in the State of Alabama!
